Description & Services
Description (Service) Secondary School Students are invited to participate in the Company Program - an After School Initiative in which students, under the guidance of volunteer business advisers, form their own companies and learn key facets of business. Working in small teams the students raise capital, elect an executive, create and carry out a business plan, develop a budget, market and sell their product or service, develop a website and finally liquidate their company. This promotes self confidence, presentation skills, job readiness and friendships among participants. There is also the opportunity for graduating students to earn bursaries toward their post-secondary education as well as the chance to participate in NEXT a youth exchange conference held in Canada each year. Over $3,000 in local bursaries, 20+ awards, and over $500,000 in National Scholarships and Bursaries available to successful participants.
