Description (Service) Publicly-funded health insurance program open to residents of Ontario * hospital and physician services are paid directly by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

Eligibility Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
  • be a Canadian citizen, an Indigenous person, a permanent resident or a newcomer who is eligible as per the Ontario Health Insurance Act 
  • be physically in Ontario for 153 days in a 12 month period 
  • be physically in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days following the establishment of residency in the province 
  • have Ontario as primary place of residence
