Description (Service) The Base services, maintains and deploys as necessary navigational aids both fixed and floating  
* Stationed in Amherstburg is the CCGS Caribou Isle, a Coast Guard navigational aids tender, and the Coast Guard Cutter Thunder Cape Dundas, a search and rescue vessel, both operational from the end of March until December each year 
* There is a pollution response trailer for early response and containment in the event of an environmental spill
